Gloria Mira

Praise God! Today little Gloria Mira came into the clinic, you remember the premature little girl that we were not quite sure if she would live. Well she is doing amazing! Our prayers have been answered. She has gained about 1 pound since last week and her eyes looked amazing. Before she could not even open her eyes at all with all the gunk in them from the infection, but now she is opening her eyes and they were clear. Oh we were so thankful! Please continue to pray for her as she still has a long ways to go. I will post a picture of her and you can see how very tiny she is.

Our prayers for the children with Malaria are also being answered. We are starting to see less and less new cases and the old cases are getting so much better. It is really amazing how well Quinin works. They come in looking horrible then they take the medicine and the next day they are looking so well! We have also started to try other medications in fear that some of them are becoming immune to the Quinin. I guess that some time ago the nurses here were only giving the treatment for 3 days when it is absolutely necessary for it to go on for 5 days. This could account for some of the repeat illnesses we are seeing. So please continue prayers for them also. God is doing wonderful things here, and these children are so sweet. We want them to be healthy so they can play and be wonderful normal children. It is also raining fairly often here right now, so that could account for the malaria.

God Bless!! I love you all!!
