Every day there is something new to be thankful for and something new to be praying for. Today we had a huge blessing. We were running out of funds to cover our milk program, which is where we give formula to babies that their mother has died or produces no milk. Here the formula is so incredibly expensive, but we have about 20 babies in our program and they depend on our program to live. We are running out of the formula and we will not be getting money until the end of the week or so, so we were wondering how we were going to solve this problem. Well, today a gentleman came by to say hello and meet us, he is teaching in the area, and he gave us 100 US dollars for our clinic. This is a huge blessing! We can now buy some more formula for our kids and be able to hold off until we recieve more funding. It is amazing how the Lord works.
But also we are struggling with a young girl from our orphanage that has Typhoid fever. Originally we thought it was Malaria, because they have some very similar symptoms. But she just wasnt getting any better! We eventually had to give her an IV to get some fluids into her. Now we are trying to determine what the best treatment is, as there are many and some are better than others, but have bad side effects. This is the difficulty with not having a doctor around, because in these kind of situations it would be nice to get some good advice. But the internet is a beautiful thing and so is the book "Where There Is No Doctor." After receiving the IV Asunta looks a whole lot better and she is actually eating and drinking. Thank God because she was just wasting away. But please pray for the wisdom to treat in situations like this. Everyday is new, with new issues. I am learning so much, but there is so much that I dont know. But God will take care of this and has the wisdom to treat these things.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and love. Prayer is so important, and if each of you pray and keep that going, amazing things can happen. God Bless!!
